Large, 3 to 4 in. flower clusters bloom in an intense magenta purple shade. Jolt Purple interspecific hybrid dianthus is bred for exceptional heat tolerance and disease resistance. Plants grow 16-20 in. tall and 12-14 in. wide. Jolt Purple dianthus won the "Super Plant" designation from Louisiana State Univ. Ag Center for superior performance in the hot, humid Louisiana climate. Jolt Purple adds a brilliant sparkle to garden beds, borders, containers and cut flower bouquets.
Growing Jolt Purple Dianthus Seeds
Sow Dianthus seeds in cell packs or flats, press into soil and lightly cover. Kept at 65-70°F. germination averages 1-2 weeks. Transplant into the garden 12-18 in. apart.
