Helena Mix helenium plants produce vivid daisy-like flowers from July to October, on easy-to-grow 4 ft. plants. Plants explode into bloom with flowers in shades of yellow, bronze red and bicolors. Butterflies love these flowers, and they are excellent for cutting. At the rear of flower borders Helena Mix provides much needed mid to late season color. Winter hardy to zone 3.
Growing Helena Mix Helenium Seeds
Plant Helenium Seeds: Sow helenium seeds in cell packs or flats, press into soil but do not cover. Needs light to germinate. Kept at 70°F, seed germinates in 10-21 days. Transplant helenium seedlings into the garden 12-18 in. apart.
Grow Helenium: Plants perform best in full sun. Helenium flowers attract honey bees and butterflies, are excellent for cutting. Helenium plants tolerate both heat and drought, and are rabbit and deer resistant.
