Blue Spear is the showiest seed grown English lavender. Long, upright fragrant flower spikes in deep denim blue are densely arranged on 11-13 in. tall and 9-11 in. wide plants. The result: maximum color impact, even from far away. Plant Blue Spear in any sunny spot that wants a strong punch of blue. Blue Spear is a first-year flowering perennial, winter hardy to USDA zone 6a.
Growing Blue Spear Lavender Seeds
Sow lavender seed in clean cell packs or flats, use a packaged sterilized soilless mix. Seedlings could dampen-off otherwise. Press seed into soil. Do not cover, needs light to germinate. Do not use a humidity dome. Kept at 65°F., germination is in 2-3 weeks. Transplant seedlings into the garden 12-18 in. apart.
