Fleuroselect Novelty Award winner. Salvatore Blue meadow sage blooms early on dark, 12-16 in. stems that hold deep ultraviolet blue flower spikes. Compact, low branching plants with leathery leaves tolerate heat and drought. Salvatore Blue is winter hardy to zone 4.
Growing Salvatore Blue Salvia Seeds
Sow salvia seed in cell packs or flats, press into soil but do not cover. Needs light to germinate. Kept at 75°F., germination is in 21-30 days. Transplant salvia seedlings into the garden 18 in. apart, after all danger of frost.
