Trailing Asarina Seeds
'Victoria Falls' is a trailing, spilling type of asarina, unlike the more widely known Asarina scandens, which has a climbing form. Arching, 10-18 in. stems are adorned in spring through summer with dozens of 2 in. rosy purple trumpets that emerge from lime green flower bracts among pretty heart-shaped leaves.
Lovely in hanging baskets, tall pots, spilling over retaining walls, or anywhere that allows 'Victoria Falls' to show off its elegant, tumbling growth habit. Tender perennial, usually grown as an annual.
Growing Victoria Falls Asarina Seeds
Start indoors 10-12 weeks before the last frost. Sow in cell packs or flats, press into soil but do not cover. Needs light to germinate. Kept at 70-75°F., germination is in 14-21 days. When seedlings have several sets of true leaves, transplant into individual containers.
