Funky Pink, an interspecific hybrid between Begonia tuberosa and B. boliviensis, combines huge, voluptuous flowers with superior heat tolerance and semi-trailing yet dense, sturdy growth habit. Funky Pink cascades to 18 in. long, and reaches just 8 to 12 in. high.
Vigorous, uniform plants bloom in about 4 months from easy-to-germinate seed. Grow in full sun or shade in mild climates, and part shade to shade in hot summer areas.
Growing Funky Pink Begonia Seeds
Sow begonia seeds in cell packs or flats, press into soil but do not cover. Light aids germination. Kept at 80°F., germination is in 14-60 days. Bottom-heat will improve results and is recommended. Transplant into the garden 10 to 17 in. apart.
