Golden Sweet snow peas live up to their name. Deliciously sweet and tender flat pods are an attractive shade of yellow that comes somewhere between chartreuse and lemon. Vigorous, 6 ft. tall vines produce highly ornamental pink and purple flowers in great profusion, quickly followed by just as many crunchy, delectable peas. Harvest when pods are young; at about 3-3.5 in. long, and eat raw, lightly sautéed or stir-fried. Golden Sweet snow peas have quickly become one of our favorite vegetables to snack on straight from the plant.
Growing Golden Sweet Peas Seeds
Plant Pea Seeds: Sow seed 1 in. apart and 1 in. deep in rows 12-18 in. apart. Do not thin. At 50-75°F, germination is in 1-2 weeks.
Grow Peas: Peas love cool humid weather and should be planted as early in the spring as the soil can be worked. Where winters are mild sow from October to February for early spring production that will beat the heat.
